The Trump administration wants Beijing to sway Chinese companies into purchasing an extra $200 billion of US goods. Leaving aside the question of whether it’s consistent to browbeat the Chinese government for being too involved in the economy while also asking Beijing to use precisely that leverage to cut the trade deficit — here are a few American things Chinese President Xi Jinping could buy if $200 billion were burning a hole in his pocket.
