Ever been itching to go surfing in the middle of a city? In a river? In the dead of winter in Europe?

Well, that's a thing in, of all places, Munich.

Since the 1970s, surfers have been flocking to the Bavarian capital to catch some modest but gun 3-feet-high waves in the Eisbach River, which interestingly means “icy brook” in German.
