This week, Microsoft announced a partnership with USAID and Internews to develop the Media Viability Accelerator, a platform to help independent media outlets become more financially sustainable. Through the Microsoft Democracy Forward initiative, Microsoft is working to improve the information ecosystem, expand news distribution, and look for ways to provide journalists and newsrooms with tools, technology, and the capacity to expand the reach and efficiency of local news outlets.
