Microsoft announces expansion to commitments to connectivity and skills in Africa

Microsoft announced a new commitment to expand internet access to a quarter of a billion people living in unserved and underserved areas worldwide by 2025, including 100 million people in Africa. The announcement, part of Microsoft’s Airband initiative to advance high-speed internet worldwide, took place during the US-Africa Leaders’ Summit in Washington, DC.
