3: Three new felony charges against former President Donald Trump were unveiled on Thursday. Prosecutors in the classified documents probe added the new charges, accusing Trump of asking the property manager at Mar-a-Lago to delete security camera footage sought by investigators. Trump, who denies the allegations, could also soon face new criminal charges linked to the Jan. 6 riots.

45: Moldova is expelling 45 Russian diplomats over concerns of spying and backing opposition groups. The expulsion follows a media report exposing new surveillance equipment installed atop the Russian embassy. Russia has until mid-August to cut the embassy staff, and Moscow has warned that the move will “not go unanswered.”

9: The European Central Bank, continuing its year-long campaign to combat painfully high inflation, raised interest rates for the 9th straight time on Thursday. The announcement left the door open for further rate hikes, despite increasing fears of a recession.

150: The world’s largest bologna sandwich was unveiled at a central Pennsylvania fair by a group of volunteers known as the Bologna Security. The sandwich was 150 feet long and sold for $100 a foot to sponsors. The proceeds were donated to a local charity, and fairgoers got to eat for free.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo and an alliance of militias led by the notorious M23 rebels announced a ceasefire on Thursday after talks in Qatar and, after three years of violence, said they would work toward a permanent truce.
