12: The deadly collapse of a high-rise beachfront condominium in Miami has rocked the US city, and reverberated around the world. Among the dead and missing are people with ties to countries including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Israel, Paraguay, and the Philippines. The US has already expedited visas for family members of the victims from at least 12 countries.

800,000: Ok guys, who tried to kill the Colombian president? Bogotá is offering a reward of $800,000 for any information about who shot at Iván Duque's helicopter as it flew near the Venezuelan border last Friday.

3: Even while negotiating a new Iran nuclear deal, Washington is still keeping up the pressure on Tehran. The US on Sunday carried out airstrikes on three bases run by the Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces in Syria and Iraq. At least four PMF fighters were killed.

50,000: In a historic move, India has recently shifted some 50,000 troops to the Chinese border. For decades, Delhi's main security focus was Pakistan, but Indo-Chinese border clashes have intensified over the past few years as the two behemoths vie for supremacy in Asia.

Forget the fancy cars, futuristic gadgets, and martinis “shaken, not stirred.” In his book "Sell Like a Spy: The Art of Persuasion from the World of Espionage", Jeremy Hurewitz tells GZERO's Tony Maciulis that intelligence officers are a lot more like therapists than James Bond-style action heroes.

Last Tuesday, a self-identified democratic socialist who ran on making New York affordable for the 99% won the city’s mayoral race in a landslide, defeating former Governor Andrew Cuomo. And the reactions have been predictably hysterical.
