1.13 billion: Shop closures as a result of the ongoing "Yellow Vest" protests in France have cost more than $1.13 billion, according to the French Federation of Commerce and Distribution. Protests continue across the country despite concessions from the government.

51: According to a new poll, 38 percent of British respondents say that if "the government cancelled Brexit and Britain remained a member of the EU," they would feel "betrayed," "disappointed," or "angry." 51 percent said they would be "delighted," "relieved," "pleased," or that they "wouldn't mind."

30: The Mexican government says it will spend $30 billion over the next five years on Central American development in hopes of slowing migration from that troubled region through Mexico toward the United States. In contrast, the US has drastically reduced aid to the region over the last year.

10: Just ten days before an historic election in the Democratic Republic of Congo that is supposed to bring the country's first-ever democratic transition of power, a suspicious fire at an election commission warehouse destroyed about 7,000 of the 10,000 voting machines due to be used in Kinshasa, the country's capital. Preparations for the December 23 vote continue.
