How long will it take Tesla to start mass producing ventilators?

Elon Musk promised on Twitter that if there was a ventilator crisis, his company would spring into action and make them. It does take a while, though, to reconfigure factories. They do have designs. They are working on it. I would say a couple of weeks. In the meantime, Tesla has ordered a bunch of ventilators from China and is distributing them, which is great.

What more can the Silicon Valley companies do to help people get medical supplies?

I think the most important thing that they can do is to facilitate communication. Figure out ways that Facebook, for example, can be used to coordinate between places that don't have masks and places that do.

Will Amazon be able to continue operating if employees keep getting sick?

This is a huge threat to Amazon as it is to every company, but particularly to Amazon, where people will be afraid of ordering Amazon packages if warehouse employees get sick as they have been. But I have a feeling Americans are so reliant on Amazon during this crisis and other companies that deliver goods, Amazon will be able to hire people, to increase its wages, and ideally will help keep its factories safe and its employees healthy.
