GZERO is a digital media company that provides insights on global affairs that are engaging and relevant to a broad audience, without ideological baggage or insider jargon. In this capacity, you'll write and edit articles about international politics for gzeromedia.com, our flagship newsletter GZERO Daily, and other newsletters in our suite. The ideal candidate for this position has digital journalism and newsletter-writing experience and can provide strong analytical insights on current geopolitical news and trends.
As senior writer, you will work with a team of writers in a dynamic, news-driven environment. You will write and edit daily and must be comfortable with the demands of a fast-paced newsroom. This includes writing to tight deadlines, and some weekend and morning/evening hours as needed. You must have strong news judgment and clear convictions about which stories to cover each day – and how to approach them with our unique perspective and voice. Ultimately, we're looking for a colleague who shares our commitment to being the first to provide insight on important geopolitical stories. We aim to be fearless in our approach while offering a friendly, approachable voice that is full of flavor.
This position can be based in New York, N.Y., or Washington, D.C.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years reporting/writing experience
- 3+ digital media experience (comfortable with newsletters, CMS, html)
- Credibility covering and analyzing international politics
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Branded reporting/writing experience
- A sense of humor and a positive team spirit

The applicable base salary range for this role is $48,500 – 90,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
