About the role:
GZERO Media is seeking a Deputy Head of Content to create and manage daily content offerings including our newsletters, breaking news updates for social channels, digital video, podcasts, and branded content as needed. This role reports directly to the Chief Content Officer and will be responsible for writing, editing, and creating content as well as overseeing the work of reporters and creators. This position is based in our New York City global headquarters.
Responsibilities include:
- Variously curating, editing, and creating content, which may be published on our website, for our daily newsletters, on social channels, and as short-form videos
- Managing a small team of content creators, investing in their career growth and long-term professional success
- Working as a player-coach, also perform routine operational work as needed, such as sometimes building and deploying newsletters
- Providing thought partnerships for graphics and data-driven content, including our Graphic Truth series
- Producing podcasts and branded content projects when required
- Working directly with the Chief Content Officer to improve and innovate our content strategy and execution
A successful candidate for this position will have:
- At least 8 years of experience working in an active digital newsroom, preferably having covered global affairs, politics, and/or foreign policy
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- The ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and succinctly across multiple formats
- Familiarity with video and podcast production and how to create successful digital content for an audience
- Deep social media understanding and skills across a variety of channels and platforms
- Impeccable attention to details and facts
- An ability to work with a variety of creators across all mediums including broadcast television, digital video, and content for social channels.
- A strong understanding of how to tailor and publish content that works for specific channels—TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
- Deep curiosity about the world and an insatiable appetite for news and global affairs content
The applicable base salary range for this role is $115,000 to $130,000
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Position Overview:
Eurasia Group and GZERO Media are seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented Graphic and Animation Designer who lives and breathes news, international affairs, and policy. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience using visual storytelling—including data visualizations and short-form animations—to make complex geopolitical topics accessible, social-friendly, and engaging across platforms. You will join a dynamic team of researchers, editors, video producers, and writers to elevate our storytelling and thought leadership through innovative multimedia content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily: Design and produce visually compelling assets—including infographics, charts, maps, and data visualizations—for research publications, newsletters, client deliverables, and GZERO Media’s digital platforms.
- Weekly: Create short-form animations and motion graphics for editorial video, social-first content, and multimedia products.
- Monthly: Develop interactive and animated presentations for events and conferences, collaborating with the Events team and stakeholders.
- Work closely with editorial, research, and digital teams to translate complex global topics—country analysis, elections, breaking news—into clear, impactful visuals.
- Propose new creative concepts to advance the firm’s visual storytelling, experiment with generative AI and new design tools as appropriate, and help define our visual brand in a crowded digital marketplace.
- Flexibly manage multiple projects and respond quickly to breaking news and fast-changing requirements.
- Join internal meetings and (on occasion) external client or event sessions to collect feedback, brainstorm, and present creative ideas.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 3+ years’ experience in graphic design and animation (preferably in news, research, think-tank, or policy communications environment).
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, and InDesign; demonstrated ability in using generative AI visual tools and fluency with a variety of new and emerging design platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional portfolio with at least four examples of visually explaining complex or policy-related topics.
- Passion for global news and politics; international mindset and curiosity about foreign affairs.
- Entrepreneurial, “scrappy” approach: can take direction but also thrives independently in a fast-paced, feedback-driven culture.
- Team player who contributes to creative vision and thought leadership; strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Adaptable to flexible working hours and quick-turnaround requests driven by the global news cycle.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to experiment with new tools or approaches.
In-person attendance in New York City or Washington DC office preferred; remote candidates considered (in EST time zone).
Additional Details:
- Role is primarily internal with possible client or event participation as needed.
- Minimal travel expected, and remote project execution is possible.
