OpenAI’s much-anticipated store will open sometime this week. It’ll allow developers to share and sell custom versions of ChatGPT, creating a marketplace reminiscent of Apple’s App Store.

The so-called GPT Store comes months after OpenAI began letting paying users customize AI agents for specific purposes. You could have a version of ChatGPT, for example, that’s designed to build recipes from the groceries already in your pantry or one that helps you optimize your fantasy football lineup each week. There are endless possibilities.

But the exact launch day is still under wraps – as are so many other important details, such as who can sell, who can buy, and whether OpenAI will get a major cut. For anyone still wondering what ChatGPT is good for, the response to this launch could provide the answer.
