Carl Bildt, former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Sweden, shares his perspective on Europe In 60 Seconds:

How is the relationship between the EU and Russia?

Well, the relationship between Russia took a distinct turn down after the visit of the High Representative Borrell to Moscow, where he was treated in a less than respectful way and perhaps wasn't quite up to speed on what is needed in order to handle the Russians. So, we'll see what's going to be the consequence of this as the heads of state in government take stock of the situation.

Second question, how is Brexit doing?

Well, Brexit isn't doing too well. I mean, some of the Brits are happy. They say the fish are happy, but the fishermen can't export their goods to the EU to the same extent as they did before. And also, a lot of other businesses are finding bureaucracies and procedures and things like that that are taking trading figures down. The trade that is moved to Europe is the trade in stocks and equities that has moved to a substantial extent to Amsterdam. But the relationship is finding its new balance. It's on a lower level. That's regrettable, but that's what the Brits wanted.
