They're still counting the bodies in Israel. Cemeteries are so busy they need signs to guide mourners to the right funeral. All up to 200 more Israelis are believed to be in Gaza, status unknown.

That's the context Israeli journalist Avi Meyer said the world needs to understand the public mood in Israel as the military prepares to make a massive push into Gaza in hopes of dealing Hamas a devastating blow from which it will never recover.

"What we saw on display on Saturday was ISIS-like behavior," he tells Ian Bremmer on GZERO World. "This is not an organization that can be reasoned with; it's an organization that is dead set on murdering as many Jews as they possibly can."

The priority is now to eliminate Hamas, come what may, he said. But there's a risk: who knows what sort of organization may emerge from the power vacuum left behind in Gaza.
