French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Theresa May are in dire straits these days. But a look back at support for their predecessors shows that things have been worse. At this point in his presidency, Macron can still look down on the approval ratings of his much-reviled predecessor Francois Hollande, while Ms. May can take solace in the knowledge that she is still more popular two years into the job than the Iron Lady (Margaret Thatcher) herself.
