Carl Bildt, former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Sweden, shares his perspective on Europe In 60 Seconds:
Why are Poland and Hungary blocking the EU recovery package and EU budget?
Well, they dislike, and you can understand why, the rule of law provisions, conditionality that's been put in by the European Parliament, by the other member states who are slightly fed up with what they are seeing both in Poland and Hungary. This is a fairly major crisis. Don't expect an easy resolution, but there will be a resolution.
Second, what does Moldova's election win mean for Europe?
It was a very impressive win by the pro-European forces and the pro-European candidate in the presidential election in in Moldova. There was an incumbent pro-Russian who did whatever he could in order to win, as they usually do. But there was 57% for the pro-European candidate. And it has to be added, the president who sits there did concede his loss very fast.
