GZERO Director of Sales and Partnerships
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Director of Sales and Partnerships to join our team in New York. This role is ideal for a media sales professional with 6 to 10 years of experience, keen on advancing their career in a highly competitive and fast-paced environment. The Director of Sales and Partnerships will be instrumental in expanding GZERO Media's media client base, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth in the broadcast, digital, video, podcast, and newsletter segments. We’re looking for someone who is excited to be part of an entrepreneurial team and has a creative and flexible mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Go-To-Market Strategy: Develop and execute strategic account plans and support senior leadership in business and strategic planning, including cultivating new business pipelines, forecasting, and major pitches. Generate new ideas, sales platforms, and sales and marketing opportunities.
- Partnership Proposal Development: Operate with a high level of proficiency in PowerPoint to cultivate proposals that not only tell a compelling narrative for existing customers and future prospects but are also creative, compelling, and dynamic.
- Client Stewardship: Maintain and enhance client relationships at all levels of the organization internally and with external senior clients and agency-level colleagues by providing exceptional service and support. Work with stakeholders across the organization beyond GZERO to cultivate ‘One-Firm’ partnership revenue, including events, advisory, and speaking engagements. Respond to internal and external client questions about campaigns, results, and assets promptly and accurately.
- New Business Development: Make cold calls, source competitive marketplace activity, generate RFPs through agency partners, gather leads from conferences and summits, leverage existing client relationships, and partner with various clients across industries to identify and cultivate new business opportunities. Write comprehensive contracts and SOW documents ensuring client satisfaction and company profitability.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrate a wide-ranging knowledge of the integrated media landscape with a deep understanding of digital, video, social, newsletters, broadcast, audio, programmatic, events, and branded content to present prospective opportunities to new/existing customers.
- Client Report Analysis: Working with our data team, conducting thorough reviews of client reports, emphasizing detail and data accuracy. Partner closely with the digital operations team to help deliver campaign optimization recommendations. Work with the data team to oversee ongoing performance reporting to create upsell opportunities for a suite of customers.
- Leadership: Work closely with the Publisher and senior team to make decisions, solve problems, create assets, and drive revenue.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Media Expertise: 6 to 10 years of experience in media sales, with a strong understanding of the evolving media marketplace.
- Sales Acumen: Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships across all levels of seniority and industry, focusing on client stewardship and servicing.
- Proficiency in platforms like: CMS, Google Analytics, Salesforce, Excel, Powerpoint, and other reporting and digital marketing programs and metrics and RFP qualification
- Analytical Skills: High attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret client reports and data.
- Cross-Vertical Selling: Comfortable presenting to and discussing proposals with clients in all industry verticals, including (but not limited to) finance, tech, telco, pharma, auto, CPG, travel, etc.
- Product Development: Identify and recommend new product launches/opportunities to continue the organization’s evolution and revenue diversification.
- Creativity: Partner and brainstorm with colleagues across all firm departments weekly to cultivate new revenue opportunities and ideate on new partnership concepts.
- Pipeline Management: High-level understanding of CRM platform management (Salesforce) with the ability to manage and forecast pipelines across all stages from prospect to close.
- Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with an ability to analyze and interpret client reports and data.
- Presentation Skills: Excellent skill in creating and delivering compelling sales pitches with high level of comfort presenting to C-Suite marketers, senior brand executives and affiliated media buying/planning/strategy agencies.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of clients.
- Independent Worker: Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently while also being a team player.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or MBA preferred.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Position Overview:
GZERO Media is seeking an Intern to support the work of our editorial and social team. While no previous journalism experience is required, journalism and broadcast students are highly encouraged to apply. This role provides ample opportunity to explore many facets of digital journalism and storytelling, both written and video. The ideal intern for our team is passionate about global affairs and politics, eager to learn about newsletter building and publishing, and has a solid understanding of how media brands interact with audiences across social media channels. The internship will be conducted in person in the NYC or DC office. Applicants should be students of an academic institution.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with GZERO's managing editor and the newsletter team. Contribute to the writing and publishing of GZERO's Daily and weekly newsletters. Tasks will include research, coordinating guests, interviewing sources, writing, and conducting digital operations.

Broadcast/Video Editor
The Broadcast/Video Editor is responsible for editing video content for GZERO Media, which entails embracing tight deadlines while also striving for new and creative forms of video storytelling. The ideal candidate is a consummate professional who can pivot from producing and editing news-oriented content to short documentaries to sales and advertising content.
She/he are part of a team of editors and producers who create the weekly public affairs show GZERO World with Ian Bremmer, which airs nationally on public television and several other digital and social video products.
In addition to crafting the weekly, 30-minute TV program, editing may be required for additional video content, sizzles, and promotional materials. This is a staff position with health/dental/401K benefits. She/he will report to GZERO Media's Head of Video.
This position's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Editing our half-hour Public Television show, "GZERO World with Ian Bremmer"
- Additional editing projects range from short news content, docuseries, internal pitch videos, branded content, social & digital videos as neededMedia management of existing and new video assets and archive
- Co-creation of journalistic, global affairs video content that avoids editorial bias
- Pitching stories and participating in story development for GZERO World and digital videos
- Working with outside vendors as needed on audio and video quality control for broadcast
- Delivery of TV show assets to our parent station for broadcast, and syndication partners as needed
- Internal quality control—audio, color correction, relevant video specs
- Oversight of "style guide" ensuring consistency of GZERO Media video products, logos, branding in partnership with graphic design team
- Advanced knowledge of Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects
- 10+ years as a video editor at a television network, production company, or digital news agency.
- Broadcast editing experience preferred.

Project Management Contract Role (New York)
Eurasia Group is looking for an experienced live events producer to oversee and manage our dedicated coverage of the 2020 UN General Assembly, which takes place September 21-24, 2020. This is a temporary position and will end in October 2020.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience with a wide range of live events production in the news and current affairs space, including agenda formation and booking, marketing and publicity, multimedia content production, and live event production. Our coverage centers around 4 days of 1-hr public livestream broadcasts from a studio in midtown Manhattan, plus additional multimedia coverage to be published via a dedicated website, on GZEROMedia.com and to various owned social channels; and limited in-person experiences.
This role, which starts ASAP, will be responsible for managing the overall project plan to ensure successful execution of the project. This will require significant coordination between internal contributors, as well as an external content partner.
While the project framework is in place, much of the specifics around the agenda and substantive research, programming and guest booking decisions, design, marketing and more will need to be advanced and executed under this person's guidance. We're looking for a seasoned professional to shepherd this project from the conceptual state to execution in an efficient time frame.
The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the work, from initial ideation to development of video and written content in collaboration with the client/brand sponsor. She/he will be the direct point of contact for our research, video, and marketing leads in planning and execution of key phases of the project.
Additional responsibilities will include:- Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to establish cadence of meetings and workflow
- Create detailed list of all deliverables with a clear tracking/accountability system
- Manage the timeline and process around content creation and logistical planning for both virtual and in-person events
- Oversee budget to ensure project is within established boundaries

GZERO Media is seeking a Social Media Strategist/Manager to support the efforts of our digital team. This position is based in our NYC headquarters in the Flatiron district and reports to the Head of Growth.
The Social Media Strategist/Manager will be responsible for re-developing and maintaining GZERO's social presences, crafting sharp copy, engaging audiences, growing followers and raising benchmark metrics. As a crucial member of a lean team, the Strategist/Manager collaborates with growth team members to ensure team and company success. The ideal candidate is an active social media participant with a strong editorial sensibility. S/he is both creative and analytical, and is a strategic, growth-minded thinker with strong journalistic/editorial judgment, awareness of geopolitical news and analysis, and a bias for data-driven decision-making.

Social Media Manager Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism or relevant field preferred
- 5+ years previous experience in a social media, publishing, journalism, or related position in a digital media environment
- Strong copywriter with ability to develop an editorial voice for GZERO that may vary by platform
- Growth-minded digital media native with expertise in publishing operations, CMS operations, and content metadata
