As world leaders travel Japan this week for the annual G20 summit, all eyes are on China and the US. But while the much-anticipated meeting between presidents Trump and Xi will help to take the temperature on the ongoing US-China trade conflict, no level of US tariffs can reverse a broader trend that's here to stay: China's rise as a global trading power.
