Watch live on: Wednesday, September 20, 2023 | 11 am

Four years ago, the Christchurch Call to Action was launched in response to a livestreamed terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand. That moment marked a turning point in the deliberate weaponization of the internet for harm, but also in the generation of a unique multistakeholder community. Since then, leaders have regularly convened to maintain the Call’s momentum and ensure the work evolves to meet emerging challenges. Looking ahead to the next summit at the Paris Peace Forum and against the backdrop of an AI moment, multistakeholder perspectives are more critical than ever to enable us all to address complex issues at intersection of society and technology. What lessons can we learn from the Christchurch Call to ensure we harness the power of technological breakthroughs to shape a more resilient and hopeful tomorrow?

Participants:
  • Dame Jacinda Ardern, Former Prime Minister of New Zealand and Special Envoy for the Christchurch Call
  • Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President, Microsoft
  • Ian Bremmer, President & Founder, Eurasia Group & GZERO Media
