The Unlikely “Bromance” Between Presidents Trump and López-Obrador | GZERO World
When leftist Mexican politician Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO for short) came to power, many predicted that his relationship with the far-right President Trump, who had won office largely on an anti-immigrant platform, would be rocky at best. And yet, the two got along swimmingly. Why?

"López Obrador has always had this idea that Mexico's issues have to be solved by Mexicans, that nobody outside should get involved. Acclaimed journalist and Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos has been reporting on López Obrador for decades and he tells Ian Bremmer on GZERO World that the Mexican leader gave up quite a bit in his efforts to keep the peace with former President Trump. In fact, Ramos argues, López Obrador ended up giving Trump a version of the border wall that he had always wanted.
